Mantra: Lasso the Full Moon

General Western Astrology was always something that interested me — horoscopes, compatibility.. ya know "what's your sign?" ...and my personal healing journey was certainly sparked (a.k.a. lit up like an epic fireworks show) by a series of mind-blowing experiences with the energies of many unseen forces communicating with me.

Yet, it was through a divine one-on-one meeting in 2014 with Vedic Astrologer Eve James in Los Angeles, that my inner self-exploration journey took an even deeper dive in to the Cosmos.

Exploring my natal chart (a chart that shows the position of the planets, Moon & Sun at the exact time of one's birth) I came to understand some deeply significant things about my life and the timeline of how things were unfolding for me — and more importantly, why.

(For those that are curious, I'm a Scorpio Sun, Leo Moon, Virgo Rising.)

Learning about my chart prompted me to start focusing more mindful attention on current planetary shifts, and the cycles of the Sun and Moon. In doing this, I opened myself to a profound abundance of support and clarity in regards to my present day life, and the timing of the challenges that were/are presenting themselves to me.

Establishing a relationship with the planets, Sun, and Moon as energetic Light Beings, or Deities (gods and goddesses), is something I receive great joy from anymore. It is one of my favorite topics to explore, and while I'm far from mastering the study of any form of Astrology, the insight I gain about myself through my curiosity with it is invaluable, and really quite fun!

This week is incredibly special as we are being gifted a very rare Cosmic event with the Moon. This Full Moon peaks on Wednesday, January 31st at 6:27AM (MST North America). Offering us the usual beauty and potency of it's fullness, it will also appear even bigger and brighter this week as it is closer to the Earth — making it a 'Super Moon'. It is ALSO a rare 'Blue Moon' as it is the 2nd Full Moon of the month. If that weren't special enough (!!!) this Moon is ALSO a part of a series of three Total Lunar Eclipses, making it an even rarer 'Blood Moon' too! Ahhhh...! I almost can't handle all the MAGIC.

So it goes without saying that this week's Mantra is absolutely in honor of our Great Moon. The Mantra Om Shree Chandraya Namaha invokes the Divine power of the Moon, and strengthens our personal connection to it as a Spiritual Ally and Guide.

This Sanskrit Mantra translates as:

Om and salutations to Chandra, presiding Spirit of the Moon.

Here is a general breakdown of this translation:

Om: The Divine Word and primordial origin of Sound
Shree: Salutations (Great/Lord/Divine)
Chandraya: Chandra (Moon, as the Lunar Deity)
Namaha: I bow to You

This Mantra vibrates with the energetic frequency of the Moon. It supports us in seeing things with more clarity, looking beyond our limiting beliefs to know the deeper meaning of our challenges, and connecting us with the truth that lies within our Heart.
