Mantra: Healing Mother Earth

It feels impossible to imagine being able to accurately articulate the depth at which my relationship with Mother Earth is significant in my life. The connection I feel to Her, the Love and communication we share, and the absolute reverence I feel in my Heart are unparalleled, and quite honestly something I don’t know that I will ever fully grasp the impact of as long as I’m in this body.

While I am in this physical vessel however, I am crystal clear on the calling I’ve received to be a steward and guardian of Mother Earth. There are many ways I practice and participate in my relationship with this great planet — some are more intimate, personal and energetic, and others are more literal.

As simple as picking up trash.

One of the more subtle energetic ways that I honor this relationship is through prayer, specifically Mantra. Because the purpose of repeating a Mantra is almost solely about aligning to a certain frequency, it is one of the most potent ways we can not only bring our own vibration to match that of the love and gratitude we have for Ma, it’s also a way to intentionally direct our energy toward re-balancing and healing for Her.

At each EXPLORE Retreat I choose a Mantra that we practice together as a group, and commit to using throughout the weekend. For Fall 2019, I chose the Mantra, Om Shree Gaia Ma.

Much of the discussion and healing for this group was around the very deep connection to the Divine Feminine and Mother energy we all have. Whether conscious of it or not, we all have this, and it’s a major part of the health of our relationship with ourselves, our creativity, and the planet on which we reside.

Part of my intention for choosing this particular Mantra was to amplify the heart energy of the group and collectively direct it toward healing for Mama Earth. My invitation to each person was also for them explore what it feels like to humbly engage (through this practice) with their own personal gratitude & reverence for the gift of Life we receive each and every moment from our one Great Mother.

Today I offer the same invitation to you here. I encourage you to explore what your relationship with the planet looks like. Are you actively participating? Do you bring conscious awareness to how you engage with Her and all living beings? Or do you take from Her, expect things from Her, believe that what She has is yours? Are you distracted when you’re in Nature? Maybe you don’t give any time to being in Nature at all… These are essential things to be reflecting on.

And I can promise you this — if you’re feeling frustrated because you don’t feel like Spirit is supporting you or speaking to you, you must pause to consider how you are showing up to It; because there is a direct correlation between the guidance & clarity you are receiving and the love & respect you are giving.

Spirit and Life are flowing in, around, and through every single living cell on this planet.

And it’s all available to you to start engaging with whenever you choose to do so. Bowing in awe to the very existence of Mother Earth is pretty darn good place to start.

The simple Mantra Om Shree Gaia Ma calls for healing for Mother Earth. It aligns you with the frequency of gratitude and all the elements of Earth, Air, Fire, Water, and Spirit. It is powerful in cultivating your intuitive communication with Nature and animals, and it serves to rebalance the energy of the collective consciousness toward that of wholeness, peace, and abundance. It is a pure offering of love, devotion, and healing to Mother Earth, to Mother Goddess, Shakti — the Force of all creation, and to Life itself — the physical manifestation of Spirit in the Heart of every living one. The suggested translation¹ of this Mantra/prayer is:

Om and salutations to Divine Earth Mother Goddess Gaia

Mother Earth, I pay homage to the fullness of your beauty and divine perfection. You are abundant with Life, always re-birthing from season to season. I respect your land, waters, air, and all inhabitants. May all align with your perfect regenerative power.

Here is a general breakdown of this translation:

Om (Aum): The Divine Word and primordial origin of Sound (used to enter a state of mindful, physical and emotional awareness)
Shree: Salutations (Great/Goddess/Lord/Divine)
Gaia: In Greek mythology “Gaia” was the Mother Goddess who presided over the Earth. In current cosmology, Gaia heightens our awareness of the whole system living planet of Earth.
Ma: Regeneration & Rebirth, a way to experience the joy of connection with the Divine Feminine, as ‘Mother Earth’
